When browsing Delish for new summer recipes, I came across the listing for Thai Basil Chicken and had to give it a try! I'm glad I did because it turned out to be spectacular.
This recipe combines a variety of aromatics and veggies with chicken for a delicious, flavor-packed dinner. I really enjoyed the sauce, too. It lends such a bright, salty flavor that isn't fishy at all. When paired with a mound of white rice, it makes for a filling meal!

The following ingredients were used:
- 3 tbsp. canola oil
- 1 red bell pepper, stemmed, seeded, and chopped
- 3 shallots, thinly sliced
- 5 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 2 lb. ground chicken
- 2 Thai bird's eye chilis, thinly sliced
- 1/3 c. low-sodium chicken broth
- 1/4 c. oyster sauce
- 1 tsp. fish sauce
- 2 tsp. granulated sugar
- 2 c. packed Thai basil leaves
- Cooked rice, for serving

I had a great time trying out this recipe. It tastes delicious and has plenty of options for modification. I will for-sure keep this recipe as a regular addition to my cookbook.
