Platanus occidentalis

From the Plane-tree family, the American Sycamore is a massive tree that can attain the largest trunk diameter of any of the Eastern hardwoods. It can live up to 250 years and is a fast-growing tree. These facts combine to make the American Sycamore one of the largest in the Eastern deciduous forest.

The bark of the American Sycamore is unique among all trees being a combination of mixed green, tan and cream. Some sycamore trees can reach mature heights of over 100 feet tall.
