While looking for an excellent holiday read, I came across The Defense Lawyer: The Barry Slotnick Story by James Patterson, Benjamin Wallace on Barnes and Noble's bestselling list. It was very recently released on December 20, 2021. As I am already a big fan of James Patterson's work, I figure I will give it a read this holiday and see if it as great as I expect, and as some of the reviews have already stated!
As stated on the Barnes and Noble website, the summary for The Defense Lawyer: The Barry Slotnick Story is:
"Everyone deserves the best defense.
Known for his sharp mind, sharp suits, and bold courtroom strategies, Bronx-native Barry Slotnick is known as the best criminal lawyer in the US.
He calls himself “Liberty’s Last Champion.”
Slotnick mediates Bette Midler’s bathhouse contract and represents John Gotti, “The Dapper Don.” He defends “Subway Shooter” Bernie Goetz and negotiates future First Lady Melania Trump’s pre-nup.
His unparalleled legal brilliance defines a profession, a city—and an era."

I can't wait to read this novel. I am not used to reading lumbering nonfiction courtroom drama but I am very intrigued by the description and reviews to the point of quite looking forward to it.
