Watery summer playground in the mountains
Located in the snowy Sierra Nevada mountain range of the United States, Lake Tahoe is the largest alpine lake in North America. It is also the second deepest freshwater lake in the United States.

In the summer, sailing and motor-boating are a primary activities on Lake Tahoe. Every August the lake becomes home to one of the most prestigious wooden boat shows in the country, the Lake Tahoe Concours d'Elegance.
Other popular summer activities include parasailing, water-skiing, wake-boarding, riding jet skis and eco-friendly paddle sports. Kayaking and stand up paddle (SUP) boards have become become very popular.
Given the clarity of the water, SCUBA diving is popular, in part because Lake Tahoe offers dive sites with dramatic drop-offs and wall dives.
