I love salmon dishes, and when I came across the Food Network Kitchen's Mustard Maple Roasted Salmon recipe, I fell in love. This salmon recipe is super easy to make and tastes fantastic. The dish takes 20 minutes total to make, with 5 of it being prep time and the rest cook time. Recipes that I can make in a short amount of time are the best!
The ingredients list is not too huge, so it's definitely not too expensive to make. All it takes is 2 tablespoons of Dijon mustard, 2 tablespoons of finely chopped fresh cilantro (but fresh parsley or chives make a great alternative), 1 tablespoon of light mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup, four 5-ounce skinless center-cut salmon fillets, kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper.
Prepping the salmon was very straight forward. I preheated the oven to 400 degrees fahrenheit and lined a rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil. While I was waiting on that to preheat, I mixed together the mustard, 1 tablespoon of cilantro, mayonnaise and maple syrup into a bowl. When the preheating was done, I put the salmon fillets on the baking sheet and added 1/4 a teaspoon of pepper and salt, and evenly spread some of the mustard mixture evenly over each fillet. Thinking about it again makes my mouth water!
I baked the salmon until cooked through, which was roughly 10 to 12 minutes. Added in some of the leftover cilantro, and served it on a beautiful china plate for my guests to enjoy. The salmon was moist and flavour packed, with a sweet maple flavour. I highly recommend this recipe!
