The Ford GT; inspired by Ford's GT40 racing cars of the 1960s

In 2002 Ford unveiled the GT40 Concept car. Carroll Shelby was brought in by Ford to help develop the Ford GT. Ford Motor Company produced the Ford GT for the 2005 to 2006 model years.

The supercharged 5.4 L V8 engine of Ford GT generated 550 hp and 500 lb·ft of torque and put all this power through a six-speed manual transmission.
