Raised bar seating at kitchen island

The island in our kitchen also acts at the physical and visual divide between our kitchen area and our great room.

I want the overall space to be open concept but I also want to obscure some site the counter tops - so when we retire to the great room with guests after a meal we can't see the mess that piled up in the kitchen.
