When it comes to truly tough and capable SUVs, few models can match the 4x4 dirt cred of the Land Rover Defender. With the limited edition Defender X-Tech the masculine quality is jacked up a few more notches.
Unveiled at the Brussels Motorshow in 2011 the Defender XTech sprinkles some classy cosmetic and luxury enhancements on the standard models. This limited edition truck comes in either Orkney Grey or Nara Bronze and features contrasting black roof and wheel arches, 16-inch gloss black wheels with off-road tires, black surrounds for the headlamps, a black leather trimmed interior with contrast stitching.
The Defender is available in 90 Hard Top and 110 Utility Wagon models. Mated to a six-speed manual transmission, both the 3 door and long wheelbase 5 door version are powered by a 2.4 litre turbo diesel with a considerable 265 pound-feet of torque and 122hp.
Given the growing popularity of the Jeep Wrangler it really is too bad that Land Rover doesn't sell Defenders in North America. We should all write a letter to complain.
