I've always been into great houses, but when I came across an article for the Mortehoe House located on the Devon Coast, I truly fell in love.
Created by McLean Quinlan Architects, this home is clad in green oak boarding and weathered stone. It seems to be a rather simple gabled house from the outside, but the inside took my breath away. There is a central stair that divides the interior into two different spaces. In one, there is a main living room, and the other is shared between a laundry and mudroom. I can just imagine how much beautiful natural light the large glass panels let in, with a nice view of the garden in the back. The pitch roof allows for a double height room, and the upper level features four bedrooms and one master suite.
The view from the master suite must be simply amazing. It is perched above the ground floor, which allows you to gaze upon the sea below. It sounds like a dream, and rightfully so. I dream of living in a house like this some day!
