Lipari is the largest and most populous of the Aeolian Islands of Italy. Only seven of the seventeen Aeolian Islands are inhabited. This archipelago in the Tyrrhenian Sea, commonly called the Lipari Islands, is located on the northeast of the Sicilian coast.
The islands are popular tourist destination in the summer. Lipari's natural beauty has helped it to become a holiday home for rich Italians.
From Quattrocchi (“four eyes”) - just west of island's main town and its namesake - can be found the best views of the dramatic island and its six Aeolian neighbors.
