Just like with the two other A4 models the A4 Allroad version has been improved in all its aspects and I have to say it looks better than ever. The Allroad is based on the A4 Avant (aka wagon), which is rumored to not be returning to the US for 2013. The Audi Allroad is similar to the Avant, but adds a beefed-up exterior, a taller ride height, larger wheels, recalibrated suspension for off-roading and different interior packages. Under the hood of the A4 Allroad will be Audi's 2.0-litre turbocharged four – the same engine as the 2012 Avant – which delivers 211 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Mated to a very smooth and efficient eight-speed automatic transmission, the car will be quick off the line with little turbo lag. With the Audi start-stop system the Allroad saves energy and reduces CO² emissions by automatically switching the engine off when the car comes to a standstill - which is the best way to make an already efficient engine even more economical.
